Apples Week *MWF*

Apples, apples, and more apples were the theme this week.  We read the stories The Little Red House, Apples Here!, and Ten Apples Up On Top. We created an apple orchard in creative art and painted with apples.  We tasted different types of apples.  We tasted red delicious, golden delicious, and granny smith.  We then created a chart by signing our names for which apple we liked best.  We used our fine motor skills to sort dot stickers by color and placed them on the apple tree that matched.  In our sensory table we had the makings for apple pie.  We used oatmeal, cinnamon, and cinnamon sticks with cooking utensils.
Next week we will be talking Fall and leaves!

Reminder: Fall Break is October 8-12

Apple Week ***T/TR Class

Hello! Apple week has been tons of fall fun. We had apple tasting and charted our favorite colors as a class. We painted using apples as "stamps" and we learned a song about 5 Little Apples. The kiddos enjoyed playing with farm animals and pretending to be in an apple orchard. There were even dinosaurs at our apple orchard!
We had oatmeal, cinnamon sticks, and scoops in the touch table. It smelled like apple pie! The kids also enjoyed reading Ten Apples Up on Top and sharing about experiences going apple picking. A few of them said they have been before. We also went over how apples grow from seeds until they are picked from trees.

On Thursday, we made sparkly caramel apples on sticks :) They are hanging in the hall by our door. We also had Stretch-N-Grow today. The kids enjoyed following Coach Natalie on a zoo adventure.

Next week: we will talk all about falling leaves & continue to explore how seasons change.
