Manners *MWF class

What are Manners?  We read the books Llama Llama Time to Share, Please Say Please and Mine O'Saur. We created a Hands are not for hitting poster, art about catching our sneezes and how we can show good manners.  We read a short story called A Girl Named Sneezy where we learned how germs are spread if we don't cover our mouths and noses when we cough or sneeze.  The kids really liked this part because I misted them with water everytime Sneezy would sneeze in the story.  We practiced using our elbows when we need to cough or sneeze.
We also had a great time at Stretch-N-Grow with Coach Natalie.  We worked on skipping, hopping, galloping, running, catching a bounced ball and throwing a ball in the air and catching it.
Reminder our Christmas Tea is on December 17th at 10 am in our classroom.  Invitations will be coming home next week.

Manners Week T/TR Class

Hello families!

We jumped back into our last week of November with "Manners week". We read Please, Mr. Panda and made panda faces. We also read Llama Llama Time to Share and Just Be Nice (Whinnie the Pooh). Everyone practiced the words "please" and "thank you" in American sign language. We also played an egg shaker game using our polite words. We worked with scissors and cut out snowflakes for our classroom windows and painted at the easel too.

On Tuesday, we took a walk outside to feel the cold winter air and explore the little bit of snow on the ground. This also gave everyone practice with putting on and taking off their coats. We are practicing this self-help skill daily in our class. **Please support your child's independence by encouraging them to try to dress themselves as often as possible. It definitely takes longer, but the more practice they get, the easier these skills become.

On Thursday, we had Stretch & Grow with Coach Natalie! The class went on a camping adventure which involved working out with some "strength snakes" (resistance bands) and running/skipping/crawling through the forest.

A reminder to please send in donation items next week if you can :) Thanks!

Sharing Feast Day! Tuesday class 11/20/18

Hello and Happy Thanksgiving!

Today, we celebrated friendship together with the Busy Bees class. Thanks to all who sent in fruit for our special snack time. We read Bear Says Thanks and Turkey Trouble during our circles today. We also practiced American Sign Language for "please" and "thank you". We talked about Thanksgiving food and the kids upcoming plans for the week. We also used water color paint on coffee filters and paint do-a-dots on the easel.

Some of the things the class stated that they are thankful for during circle:
Mom & Dad, family and friends, going swimming, our hearts, playing at the park. and grandparents! We have some sweet, thoughtful Leaping Lizards this year :)

We will see everyone back next week! Enjoy your holiday!
