Week 2 - Family Week! ***T/TR Class

Hello Lizard Families!
We have found that Ms. Rebecca and I will need to post separate posts for the MWF and T/TR classes due to how editing works with the blog. Please scroll to find your child's class :) And let us know if you have any problems.

We had a wonderful week talking about our families and continuing to learn routines. Several children brought in their family photo pages to share with the class. Keep them coming in :) We will share as they are submitted. The kiddos also did drawing this week of their families.
We learned the "Daddy shark" song and practiced saying "My family" in Spanish, French, and Mandarin Chinese. We also got out the rhythm sticks to sing about the rainy day on Thursday and to count together in circle. We learned the Shark pose (yoga) and we are quickly learning our prayers! So far, our class favorite is "Johnny Appleseed".

All jobs were added this week with the exception of flag-holder. Our friends are doing a great job helping in class! We are also working hard on clean-up routines after centers, being independent with our belongings, and understanding our daily schedule.

Working on a vertical surface is an excellent way to work on the pencil grasp,
encourage hand stabilization, & hand-eye coordination.

Using tweezers to increase muscle strength in the hands and fine motor skills. Plus...it is FUN :)

Washing the babies during family week. The kids enjoyed the bubbles!

Tuesday - Ms. Holli is showing our friends how to water the garden. They also took their watering cans & Ms. Holli helped them with watering our outdoor plants! We picked our first watermelon this day also!

Developing friendships and imaginative play.
Some more of our tweezer activity. Some children are using 2 hands to squeeze and some are using 1 hand. Other ditched the tweezers and used thumb & index fingers to "pinch" the pom poms.
