Welcome Back! T/R Class

Happy New Year, Families!

We had a great first day back to school. The kids had so many stories about their holiday adventures. I was very impressed with how easily they slipped back into their routines.

This Thursday we simply ran through our most basic routines and reviewed practical skills like our bathroom independence skills, washing hands adequately, identifying their names, locating their baskets in the classroom, and circle activities/jobs. We also discussed how to not share germs since this is the month that flu bugs tend to hit hard.

We had free painting during centers, chalk at the easel, soapy water to wash babies in the touch table, and block/building centers open.

The weather was nice enough for outdoor play, so we got some time to ride bicycles, use sidewalk chalk, and check out the bird feeders as well. I am a huge advocate for getting children outdoors in all weather....if you would ever like information on why/how this is beneficial for early learners...I am always happy to share :).

Next week we will start our Winter Unit. All through January we will discuss seasons changing, snow/ice, arctic animals, and hibernation.

Here are a few snapshots of our friends having fun in the classroom....

Thanks! Ms. Jessie
