Hello! We had a busy week discussing
friendship and how to make a friend and be a friend. We read
Should I Share My Ice Cream?,
Llama Llama Bully Goat, and
Friendshapes. We played a pass the ball (ice cream) game during circle and made a poster with our traced hands. I asked each child "What makes a good friend?" and there some really great answers :) A few examples are "sharing, playing together, being happy, being kind, and listening.
Our class enjoyed outdoor time riding tricycles, using the water table, and playing hopscotch together. We also took a walking tour around the building so that everyone is familiar. The children also enjoyed using puffy paint to add ice cream to our "cones" during art. We cut open a watermelon during circle and made observations about the outside and inside of it. Unfortunately, it was not ripe enough to eat.
Next week is...
