Grandparents Week! T/TR Class

Hello! We had a wonderful, wacky week celebrating grandparents, checking out the book fair, and talking about the icy weather. We read lots of books about grandma/grandpa's and spent Tuesday preparing a gift for them. The bookmarks that came home Thursday are for grandpa/grandma or a special older friend :) Your children did a WONDERFUL job singing a song to the Thursday grandparents - I will list the lyrics at the bottom of this post.

Some of our class had grandparents attend during Wednesday class and so they did not have someone there Thursday and the sweet grandparents who were there made sure to give those kids some extra attention. We have wonderful families at TLC and are so thankful for that :)

Class photos are in! If you have not received yours, make sure to remind us! We are trying to hand them out at drop off/pick up.

Here are a few pictures of Grandparent's Day. I wish I would have captured more, but it was a very busy hour. I hope that everyone enjoyed it :)

Next week -- Happy Thanksgiving!!! No School Wed - Fri next week. Our "sharing feast" is TUESDAY. We will be having snack with the Busy Bee class. Please send in your fruit donation that day :) The kids will get a chance to prepare and eat the snack together.

Grandparents Song:
Grandma, Grandpa...Grandma, Grandpa
Today's for you....Today's for you!
We want you to feel....very, very special.
Yes we do....Yes we do!

Grandparents Are Special! *MWF

We began our week talking about Veteran's Day and what a veteran is.  We created a flag during art.  We then enjoyed our time with our grandparents on Wednesday.  We created a kissing hand with our grandparents.  This craft went along with our story The Kissing Hand.  On Friday we colored hearts and talked about how much we love our grandparents.  We also read The Grandma Book, The Grandpa Book, and The Ultimate Guidebook For Grandma and Grandpa.
Next week we will talk about being thankful.  Just a reminder, we will be closed for Thanksgiving Wednesday through Friday, November 21st through the 23rd.

Enchanted Forest Week T/TR Class

Thank you all for taking the time to meet with us on election day! Conferences are a great time to touch base and make sure your child's needs are being met.

This week, our class focused on Fairy Tale stories, The 3 Little Pigs, in preparation for our enchanted forest bookfair next week. They created houses made of straw, bricks, and sticks. They had fun with dress up and enjoyed having Ms. Rebecca as their sub on Thursday.

Next week is Grandparents week! We will have some special activities on Thursday and the children will be able to visit the bookfair with their visitors that day. Please let us know who is coming (or if someone is not able to make it) so that I can plan our day accordingly. Thanks for the RSVP's we have already gotten.

Have a wonderful weekend!

Ms. Jessie

Forests/ Woodlands Week * MWF

We want to thank everyone for such a successful conference day!
This week we learned about the forest.  We read the books Animal Tracks, Up In A Tree, and Who Lives Here.  We painted with pine tree branches, used forest animal figures to make animal tracks and painted with marshmallows.  We talked about what the tracks of several forest animals look like and played a game trying to figure out who the tracks belong to.  We also went on a bear hunt while listening to the song Bear Hunt by The Learning Station.
Next week we will be talking about our Grandparents.
Grandparent's Day is on Wednesday and the book fair will be in Murr Hall all next week.
